Arkansas Home Sales Up, Prices Down In June

LITTLE ROCK — The number of homes sold in Arkansas increased by more than 10 percent in June compared with a year earlier, and the average price of homes sold decreased by less than 2 percent, the Arkansas Realtors Association said Friday.

The association said 2,708 homes sold in the 43-county area it surveyed in June, which was up 10.4 percent from the June 2013 total of 2,453. The average price of a home was $164,227, down 1.9 percent from the June 2013 average of $167,455.

Pulaski County had the most homes sold in June with 440, followed by Benton County with 438, Washington County with 294, Faulkner County with 146 and Saline County with 132. Sebastian County had 127 home sales and Jefferson County had 27.

Average home prices in June were highest in Cleburne County at $231,298, followed by Benton County at $202,422, Pulaski County at $193,628, Washington County at $189,488 and Columbia County at $184,031.

The average home price was $151,758 in Sebastian County and $85,278 in Jefferson County.
