Inmate Gary Patrick Topham has escaped again from the Logan County Detention Center in Paris. He was reported missing from his cell Tuesday morning.

Logan County Chief Deputy and Jail Administrator said he believes Topham escaped while in the jail’s exercise yard between 2:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. Monday but the escape wasn’t reported to jailers until 4 a.m. Tuesday.

“We are currently conducting an investigation into why we weren’t told until 4 a.m.,” Spicer said.

Topham was being held awaiting transport to the Arkansas Department of Corrections.

Topham, 49, is a white male weighing approximately 165 pounds and approximately six feet tall. Topham has brown hair, brown eyes and wears glasses. Topham was last seen wearing his black and white striped jail issued uniform and orange sandals.

Citizens are asked to call 911 if they see Topham or call 963-3271 if they have any information.

The details of the escape are still under investigation and more information will be released later, according to the Sheriff’s Department.

This is the second time Topham has escaped from the detention center. He escaped on Nov. 4 by climbing a chain link fence topped with razor wire surrounding the jail’s exercise area. He was captured in Booneville on Nov. 7 and returned to the jail. Topham was originally jailed on Nov. 1 following an appearance in 15th Judicial District Circuit Court in Booneville. He was charged with failure to appear, fleeing, manufacture of meth or cocaine and possession of a controlled substance.
