One Shot, One In Custody

A Booneville man is in custody this morning after a shooting behind a business on Broadway last night.

Roy Wingate, 36, was being taken into custody at the scene after shooting Aaron Henry, 24, with a shotgun, according to Booneville Police Chief Al Brown.

It was Wingate who made the 911 call after the shooting that occurred behind Cowboys and Angels resale shop at about 10:30 p.m., Brown said.

Brown said the investigation is still ongoing and he “cannot tell a story as of yet.”

“Some type of confrontation ensued and Aaron Henry was shot one time in the leg with a shotgun,” said Brown.

Henry was taken via Tulsa Lifeflight to UAMS in Little Rock, Brown said.
