Reward Offered For Buffington

The Arkansas Department of Correction is offering a reward of as much as $4,000 to anyone with information leading to the capture and arrest of escaped convicted murderer Timothy Buffington.

Prison officials are continuing their search for Buffington, 47, who escaped from the Pine Bluff Unit on June 21. At the time of his escape, Buffington was serving a 20-year sentence for first-degree murder and had been in prison since 1999.

Buffington is 5 feet, 6 inches tall and weighs 182 pounds. He has a scar on his abdomen and back upper left arm and a tattoo on his right wrist, according to the ADC website.

The reward has been made possible through donations made by prison employee associations, Wilson said.

Buffington is to be considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information on his whereabouts can call the ADC at (870) 267-6421 or dial 911.
