A Booneville man held for over a week for allegedly shooting another man has been released on $10,000 bond. No charges have been filed in connection with the case as yet.
Whether Roy Wingate, 36, will face charges or not is up to the 15th Judicial District Prosecuting Attorney Tom Tatum II. Tatum and Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Brian Mueller were unable to obtain a statement from Aaron Henry, 24, the man Wingate is accused of shooting in the leg with a shotgun, until earlier this week.
Henry was taken to UAMS after the incident and, according to investigators, has undergone one or more surgeries for the wound sustained when he was shot behind Cowboys and Angels at about 10:30 p.m. on May 19. Wingate called 911 after the incident and was taken into custody without incident.
