Woman Dies In Accident

A 48-year old Jessieville woman was killed as a result of injuries she suffered when she was thrown from a motorcycle on which she was a passenger on Highway 10 east of Booneville Saturday.

According to an Arkansas State Police fatality report Sherry L. Wilson was traveling west on a 2012 Harley Davidson motorcycle driven by Grant M. Hodges, 41, when a 2004 Mustang, also traveling west, in front of the motorcycle stopped to make a right hand turn onto a private drive.

The report states the motorcycle was unable to stop, swerved and in the process Wilson was thrown from the motorcycle and struck the left rear of the Mustang after which the right side of the motorcycle sideswiped the Mustang.

Hodges, of Hot Springs Village, was not injured, according to the report. Nor were the driver – Nicholas G. Massey, 27, of Booneville – or the passenger of the Mustang – Alicia Qualls, 27, also of Booneville.

The road was dry and weather was clear at the time of the accident.
