Alfred Alexander Green

Alfred Alexander Green, 84, of Bella Vista, died Sunday, Jan. 5, 2014 at Circle of Life Legacy in Bentonville. He was born on Jan. 28, 1929 to Asa A. Green and Lily Loyd Green in Magazine.

He was raised and educated in Magazine. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Al married Mariann Wareham on April 18, 1958 in Tulsa, Okla. He worked for the Public Service Company of Oklahoma for 33 years. He owned Green’s Family Hardware in Oologah, Okla. They moved to Bella Vista in 1991, where he enjoyed working in his woodshop, traveling, and helping neighbors and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and three brothers.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Mariann Green of Bella Vista; son, Aaron Green and wife Nancy of Stevenson Ranch, Calif.; daughter, Anita Gail Hail and husband Bruce of Edmond, Oklahoma; two brothers, Logan Green and wife Roberta of Booneville, Garvin Green and wife Lois of Rogers, Arkansas; one sister, Alma Newsom of Baton Rouge, La., and nine grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 18, 2014 at Reveille Primitive Baptist Church in Magazine. Arrangements are by the Bella Vista Funeral Home & Crematory, 2258 Forest Hills Blvd., Bella Vista, Arkansas.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to a charity of donor’s choice.
