Eva Viola Shultz Wells

Eva Viola Schultz Wells, 99, of Booneville, Arkansas, died on Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2013 in Booneville. Eva moved to Booneville in 2005 to be near her son, Wade Schultz of Booneville, and formerly lived in Gallup and Albuquerque, N.M., Parker, Kan., and Goltry, Okla.

Eva Schultz was born March 5, 1914 at Kremlin, Okla., daughter of Wilfred J. and Susie Olbert Burk. She was married to Leonard Albert Schultz, son of Jacob and Louise Schultz of Goltry, Okla., on Nov. 16, 1933. To this union, three sons were born. They lived on a farm near Goltry until the death of her husband in 1947. She then moved to Goltry and worked at the elementary school.

In 1953 Eva married Everett Lee, a widower of three minor children and they blended the two families on a farm near Parker, Kan., until his death in 1962. She then moved to Albuquerque, N.M. to be near her son and family. She worked in a dress shop where she did alterations.

In 1987 she married Roy Wells of Goltry, Okla., a widower with two grown daughters, and again blended the families. She was again at home in Goltry, Okla., until the death of Roy in 1988. Eva returned to New Mexico to be near her youngest son Lenny until 2005. Health problems required her to move to an apartment in Booneville to be near her son Wade and family.

Eva was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Eva loved to sew and took pride in making her own garments until she was past 97 years of age. She also loved being a homemaker and was an immaculate housekeeper. Raising house plants was a favorite hobby for her.

Those who preceded her in death were her parents, her son, Duane Gale, who died in infancy; one sister, Eula Alberta Burk, who also died as an infant; her three husbands; three brothers, Henry Burk, Wilfred Burk, Jr., and Clifford Burk; one great-grandson, Justin Hogan; one great-granddaughter, Charlene Schultz; and three step-children, Charles Lee, Wilma Joan Lee, and Larry Lee.

Those Eva left to cherish her memory include her sons and wives are Wade Schultz and wife Gisele of Booneville, and Leonard A. “Lenny: and wife Eleanor Schultz of Silver City, N.M., two step-daughters, Janice Severine and husband Cecil of Goltry, Okla., and Mary Ann Stover and husband George of Enid, Okla.; two sister-in-laws, Nada Roush of Louisburg, Kan., and Mildred Burk of Parker, Kan.; five grandchildren, Marc Schultz, Dale Schultz, Sherry Schultz, Bryan Schultz, and Jason (Schultz) Wickman; seven great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held, Saturday, Oct. 26, 2013 at Roberts Memorial Chapel in Booneville, with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery in Enid, Okla. on Monday, Oct. 28, under the direction of Roberts Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m., Friday evening at Roberts Funeral Home.
