Goldie Rose Suttles

Goldie Rose (Phillips) Suttles, 90, of Booneville, passed away Satuday, Sept. 7, 2013. She was born Aug. 18, 1923 in Antioch, Ark., the daughter of Robert Lee and Nell (Moore) Phillips.

Goldie was a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church of Booneville for 78 years and served in the Cumberland Presbyterian Women’s Ministry. She was a lifetime member of the VFW, a member of the Booneville Hospital Auxiliary and worked at the Ace Comb Plant.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William Joe “Pete” Suttles; her sister, Irene Nobles; brothers, Roy Phillips, Clarence Phillips, Argie Phillips and Ray Phillips.

She is survived by three daughters, Ada Nell Webb and husband, Edgar Wiley of Fort Smith, Brenda Jean Holman and husband, Garry of Elmore City, Okla., and Mary Jo Jones of Little Rock; one son, Rudy Phillip Suttles and wife Shelly of Bentonville; one sister, Robbie Nell Catlett of Booneville; one brother, Carl Phillips of San Fernando Valley, California; twelve grandchildren; thirty great-grandchildren; seven great-great-children.

Pallbearers will be Buddy Littlefield, Dennis Adair, Kit Parker, Alvin Miller, Dale Parker and Jamie Dempsey. Honorary pallbearers will be Scott Webb, Todd Webb, Brent Holman, Billy Holman, Bryan Jones, Chad Suttles, Lynn Mayes, Church Elders and nurses of Oak Manor Nursing Center.

Visitation will be 5 to7 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 8, at the funeral home.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 9, at Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Booneville with burial at Oak Hill Memorial Cemetery in Booneville under the direction of Booneville Funeral Service.
