Jesse Ishmael Humphreys

Jesse Ishmael Humphreys, 85, of Magazine, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 24, 2013 in Fort Smith. He was born Aug. 8, 1929 in Hot Springs to Jesse Lee and Ethel (Jones) Humphreys.

He was a farmer and was a Air Force veteran and a member of Clark’s Chapel Church. Later on in his life he installed windshields and glass in automobiles.

He is preceded in death by one daughter, Kim Elmore; two sisters, Pauline Lavern and Juanita McCall; and his parents.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 28, at Lowe Cemetery in Hale, Ark., under the direction of Roberts Funeral Home in Booneville.

He is survived by his wife Velma Humphreys of the home; one daughter, Melissa Driscol of Van Buren; two sons, David Humphreys of Rome, Ga., and Doug Humphreys of Van Buren; one sister, Ruby McCaslin of Hot Springs; and seven grandchildren.

The pallbearers will be David Humphreys, Doug Humphreys, Travis Ware, Orville Kinsey, Dan, Kenny Simpson.
