John Alvis Holbrook, Jr.

John Alvis Holbrook Jr., 74, of Booneville, passed away on Friday, Jan. 3, 2014 in Fort Smith. He was born July 13, 1939 in Perryville, to John Alvis and Sophie Marie (Lee) Holbrook Sr.

He was a retired driller on an off shore oil rig and was a certified sea boat captain and was of the Mormon faith.

He enjoyed woodworking, being a gun smith, gardening, and traveling.

Cremation arrangements were under the direction of Roberts Funeral Home in Booneville.

He is survived by his wife Glenda of the home; one daughter, Linda Bergman of San Marcos, Texas; two sons, Jason Holbrook of Texas and James Holbrook of Morrilton; two stepdaughters, Christine Adams of Booneville and Kelley Underwood of Booneville; two stepsons, John Adams of Cabot and William Underwood of Pennsylvania; two sisters, Jodie Holbrook of Perryville and Tina Taylor of Morrilton; two brothers, George Holbrook of Perryville and Gene Holbrook of Houston, Ark.; 19 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
