Leslie Clarence King

Leslie Clarence King, 80, of Booneville, passed from this life on Monday, June 30, 2014 in Booneville. He was born March 27, 1934 at home in Southland, Texas to Edward Lynn and Theodocia Agnes (Wheatley) King.

Lelsie was a former farmer and former owner of OTASCO in Booneville and later worked at Greenwood Fixtures in Greenwood. He was a member of the Heritage Addition Church of Christ in Booneville and former Little League president where he was very active coaching football and baseball.

He enjoyed going to pigeon shows and watching his grandchildren play ball.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Lou Nan King; sisters, Cleo, Faye, and Helen; brothers, Grady, Roy, and Clyde; and his parents.

Funeral services are scheduled 10 a.m., Thursday, July 3, at the Heritage Addition Church of Christ in Booneville with burial in Olton Cemetery in Olton, Texas. Local arrangements are by Roberts Funeral Home.

He is survived by one daughter, Jana Beth King Whitehead of Booneville; two sons, Kelly Russ King and wife Shelley of Booneville and Alan Neal King and wife Lisa of Harrison; nine grandchildren, Nicholas Henry, Aaron Henry, Heaven McDonald, Christopher King, Lindsey King, Ali King, Logan Mayfield, Garrett Mayfiled and Whitney Ray; and three great-grandchildren, Mason Taylor McDonald, Ryland Mayfield, and Jackson Tyler Henry.

The pallbearers will be Larry Parsons, Shelburne Bryant, Stanley Bryant, Larry Dean Mitchell, Richard Boersma and Eric Catlett. The honorary pallbearers will be Christopher King, Nicholas Henry, Aaron Henry, Mason McDonald, Jim Burwell, and Coy Evans.
