Margie G. Fuchs

Margie G. Fuchs, 82, of Havana, passed away Monday, Aug. 19, 2013 at Chambers Memorial Hospital.

She was born May 7, 1931 in South Maid, Texas to the late Robert and Emma Nevada Ray Cary. She attended school in Eugene, Ore. She then worked as a switchboard operator for the railroad in Eugene. She was a member of the E.H. Club, Past President of the Waveland E.H. Club, she won numerous awards for her quilting talents, and the Distinguished Service Award in Dec. 9, 2009. She was often asked to judge quilting and other hand-work at the county fairs and festivals.

She is preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include her husband of 44 years, John C. Fuchs; sons and daughters-in-law, David and Donna Spaght of Havana, and Bruce and Darci Spaght of Havana; daughters and sons-in-law, Pam and Paul Larson of Eldoret, Africa; Vickie and Jim Wilson of Olympia Wash.; grandchildren, Jessica Spaght, Christopher Spaght, Gavin Atkins, Joe and Aaron Pierre, Benjamin Larson, Beth Parker, Kobi, Kyle, and Corey Wilson; great-grandchildren, Georgia Spaght and Gauge Spaght-Hintze; sisters and brother-in-law Pat and Jim Peek of Moscow, Idaho and Melba Tone of Eugene, Ore.; brother, Bob Cary of Bend, Ore.

Graveside service was at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 23, 2013 at Moore’s Chapel Cemetery with Rev. Jeff Smith officiating.

Pallbearers included Raymond Turner, David Turner, Ben Gatlin, Aaron Albright, Dennis Miller and Dennis Catlett.
