Melva Ruby Adair

Melva Ruby Adair, 85, of Booneville, passed from this life on Saturday, Feb. 15, 2014 in Booneville. She was born March 7, 1928 in Tonkawa, Okla., to Jim and Myrtle Vickers.

She was a homemaker and enjoyed collecting antiques and platters, fishing, reading the Bible and the newspaper.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Earl Adair; a son, Melvan Adair; a brother, Hugh T. Vickers; and her parents.

Graveside services are scheduled for 3 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 18, at the Mountain Grove Cemetery in the Sugar Grove community near Booneville, under the direction of Roberts Funeral Home.

She is survived by one son, Hoppie Adair and wife Kathy of Fort Smith; one daughter, Lorita Gail Ferrill and husband Scott of Houston, Texas; daughter-in-law, Jingle Adair of Wichita, Kan.; grandchildren, Vince Adair, Barbie Simmermaker, Jeraka Michael, Jeremiah, Jeriel, Madison and Savannah; and five great grandchildren.

Honorary pallbearers will be Clyde Lee Adair, Harold Freeman, Larry McAnally, J.L. McAnally, Sammy Swint, Jerry Jones.
