Roger Paul Parrish
Roger Paul Parrish of Runaway Bay, Texas, formerly of Booneville, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Sunday, July 5, 2014 in Fort Worth, Texas. Roger was born July 25, 1948 to Claude Elmer Parrish and Melba Ruth (Webb) Parrish in Dayton, Ohio. Roger was 65 years, 11 months, and 12 days old.
Roger grew up in Dayton, Ohio. He was one of six children. His family eventually relocated to Booneville, where Roger lived for a great number of years. He was a man of diversity. Roger was a mechanic in his younger days, as he grew older he became skilled in carpentry. He enjoyed working with wood and building things. Roger liked to visit with people. Even though Roger was away from his family, his love was always apparent to each and every one of them. From his parents to his siblings and especially his children, time spent with them were treasured memories.
Roger leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Connie Peterson Parrish of the home; four children, Melissa Callahan and husband Sam of Waldron, Sheila Parrish and Les of Booneville, Jeff Parrish and wife Misty of Dayton, Ohio and Duncan Parrish and wife of Khristy of Fairfax, Okla., as well as two stepchildren: Carman Galbrecht of Marshall, Mo., and David Peterson and wife Tammy of Weston, Neb. Pop will be missed by his 14 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Roger is also survived by two sisters, Sandy Pierce and husband Bob of Charleston and Barbara Goff of Magazine; and one brother, Tim Parrish of Kentucky. Roger will be missed by all that knew him and the many whose lives were impacted by him, including many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and loved ones.
Roger is preceded in death by his parents, Claude Parrish and Melba Tillery, one brother, Mikey Parrish; one sister, Debbie Freshour; and one granddaughter.
Roger’s memorial life celebration will be at 1 p.m., Sunday, July 12, 2014 at the Booneville Community Center in Booneville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The National Kidney Foundation, 30 East 33rd Street, New York, NY 10016.
