Shirley Raye Gibson

Shirley Raye Gibson, 69, of Magazine, passed away Monday, April 14, 2014 in Booneville. She was born Nov. 29, 1944 in Blue Mountain, to Hobert and Winnie (Chambers) Holt.

She was a homemaker, a teacher’s aide at Magazine Schools, and a grocery clerk. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Magazine where she attended the Mattie Cravens Circle meetings.

She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m., Friday, April 18, at First United Methodist Church in Magazine with burial in Old Union Cemetery near Magazine, under the direction of Roberts Funeral Home.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Willie Adron “Doone” Gibson of the home; two daughters, Debbie Ihle of Magazine and Dana Goff and husband Ernest of Magazine; one sister, Christine Cauthron of Booneville; one brother, Harold Holt and wife Carolyn of Magazine; three grandchildren, Dezarae and husband Brad, Delaine and husband William, and Adrianne; three great-grandchildren, Mattie, Rycen Terry, and Wyatt Heffington; brother-in-law, Jerry Townsend of Okeechobee, Fla.; brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Linda Gibson of Magazine; several nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Lance, Seth, Drew, Paul, and Jerry Holt, Bryan Gibson, and Josh Haugh.

The family will visit with friends from 5 to 7 p.m., Thursday evening at the First United Methodist Church in Magazine.
