Here’s The Pitch

Well, it’s the swing actually as Joyce Woolf tosses a bean bag at a stand during a game of bean bag baseball at the Booneville Senior Center last Wednesday. Tommy Thompson is on “third base” and would score on Woolf’s throw into a 3B hole on the board. The Booneville team, relative newcomers to the game, hosted a team from Mount Ida for a couple of games. Booneville team members said they worry more about having fun with the game than competition in what is actually a tournament sport.

Home, leader, Donette Boyett from Benton, and executive director Jeanne Reynolds’ granddaughter Allison Reynolds from Ratcliff. Each native Arkansas plant is marked with a description of the plant, how it needs to be cared for and what insects or birds it attracts. The native plants were purchased at in London, Ark.

4-H Day at the Capitol

On Wednesday, March 18, over 350 4-Hers from across Arkansas gathered at the state Capitol in Little Rock to showcase 4-H youth development programs during a “4-H Day” at the Capitol. The Rotunda and Galleries of the Arkansas State Senate and House of Representatives were filled with 4-H youth members and leaders. 4-H hopes to make this a recurring event since trips like this help to turn today’s youth into tomorrow’s leaders. There were four young ladies and two chaperones representing Logan County at this event. Thank you to everyone who supports our 4-H youth in Logan County. For more information on 4-H, please call the Logan County Extension office at 675-2787 or 963-2360.
