Ruben Johnson of the Magazine Rural Fire Association is shown presenting Dickens with a plaque recognizing his service to both the Magazine Fire Department and Magazine Rural Fire Department. During his service the departments grew from one truck and seven firemen to six trucks and 23 firemen. Dickens was also active in promoting educational activities with school children about fire prevention and survival.</p>
