<p><strong>World Series Champs</strong></p><p>A team with players from Booneville and Charleston captured the 13-and-under USSSA World Series title in Dallas, Texas earlier this month. The team compiled a 7-2 record in the tournament. They were seeded 17th after pool play but beat the top seed, the 3-seed and the 4-seed twice to win the title. <p><strong>What’s The Score?</strong></p><p>Booneville High School principal Trent Goff (center) is pictured with the Frank Hug (left) of Hug Chevrolet and Robert Herrera of First Western Bank in front of the newly installed scoreboard on the purple field at the city owned Billy Kiersey Baseball/Softball Complex last week. The Bearcat baseball team plays on the field. The board was not in place until after the season but was used during the little league season.</p>

<p><strong>Summertime Hoops</strong></p><p>Coach Candy Goff and the Booneville junior and senior high Lady Cat teams have been busy this summer attending camps and workouts in preparation for the 2015-2016 season. Goff said the senior girls were 3-4 but were competetive in every game, losing by double digits just once.</p>

<p><strong>All Star</strong></p><p>Brent Loyd of Magazine put a ball in play on this swing at Bear Stadium on the campus of the University of Central Arkansas in Conway during the Arkansas High School Coaches Association’s All Star baseball game. Loyd singled home a run in the double header opener, an 8-4 loss by the West and he drew a walk during a 9-1 West win in the nightcap. For the day he was 1-for-3 with a base on balls.</p>
