Haney was fourth in the district match at Burns Park in Little Rock on Oct. 6. He will play in the state tournament on Monday, Oct. 19. The BHS tennis coach is Ronnie Denton.</p>

Rattlers Get Off To Rocky Start

The 2015 season got off to a rocky start for the Magazine Rattlers as a fumble was returned for a touchdown on the opening possession of the year at Preston Stidman Field in Mount Ida.


<p><strong>Press Box Dedication</strong></p><p>The press box at Bearcat Stadium was formally dedicated to Donal Elmore Friday night prior to the game with Ozark. Elmore taught school in Booneville for 14 years and served as the “Voice of the Bearcats” for 27 seasons and coined the phrase “Welcome to Bearcat Stadium, Home of Champions.” Elmore passed away in June. Representing their father on the field with BHS principal Trent Goff (right) during the dedication were (from left) Jill Upton, Roxanna Gibbs, Terri Farmer, Jennifer Black and John Elmore. A plaque matching one to be placed in the press box was as presented to the Elmore family.</p>
