Thursday the Bearcats were drilled by the Fort Smith Chaffin Cougars, 28-7 to fall to 1-2 on the season with both losses occurring at Bearcat Stadium.
Chaffin scored on the first offensive play of the game when Parker Dixon went 59 yards and ran the lead to 14-0 on a Spencer Wehunt touchdown run two seconds before the quarter ended.
The Bearcats drove to the Cougar 24 on the ensuing possession but turned the ball over on downs.
Chaffin started two possessions on the Bearcat side of the field in the third quarter and led 28-0 on 20- and 36-yard runs by Chewey Parga, who led all players with 113 yards on six carries.

The Bearcats went 67 yards to get on the scoreboard with 1:42 to go on a 17-yard Grant Rodatz run. Rodatz finished with 57 yards on 15 carries.

Magazine opened its 2013 season Thursday night with a 22-0 loss to conference foe Hackett at Diamondback Stadium Thursday night.
The Rattlers had two deep snap miscues in the first half that set up Hackett for a 16-0 halftime lead and the Hornets opened the second half with another scoring drive to increase their lead to 22-0.
