Two Qualify For State Meet

The Rattlers took only partial squads to Dardanelle on Thursday and to Alma on Friday but both meets turned out extremely well.

The highlights of the week included state-qualifying performances at Alma by Brittney Bryan with a state-leading throw in discus (92’3”) and Danielle Burr with a state-leading and qualifying performance (50.93) in the 300-meter hurdles.

Kaitlynn Ryan ran a personal best 6:03 1600-meters and Heather Bryan threw a personal best 28’10” in the shot put. Brittney Bryan finished off the day placing in the 8000-meter run (4th), triple jump (7th) and high jump (5th).

The boys finished 3rd overall at the 16 school meet at Dardanelle. Charly Moua won the 110-meter hurdles in 16.02 and finished with a career best 44 second 300-meter hurdles; Cheenew Yang hit a personal record 41’2” in shot put. Lee Simmers and Billy Yang finished 2nd and 4th in discus; Keith Dority placed 4th in the 800-meter run. The 4x800-meter relay team of Keith Dority, Abraham Dority, Jon Christensen, and Hunter Chastain placed 3rd.

Chastain also finished 2nd in 3200-meter run and 3rd in the 1600-meter run. Laddy Thompson ran a seaso -best 11.75 in the 100-meter dash. The 4x100-meter relay team of Charly Moua, Laddy Thompson, Caleb Shelton, and Billy Yang placed as well as the 4x400-meter relay team of Charly Moua, Billy Yang, Jon Christenson, and Keith Dority.
