Trent Wooldridge broke up a fourth down pass with 24 seconds to go in the game to allow the Booneville Junior High Bearcats to finally subdue Dardanelle, 8-7 Thursday night at Bob Keenaan Field.

Four downs earlier it appeared the Bearcats (4-2) had claimed possession on a Hayden Fennell interception but a joint possession ruling awarded the Sand Lizards 32 yards and a first down at the Bearcat 28-yard line.

One of three Lizard quarterbacks, Elyas Carter hit Kyle Smith for 7 yards on a third-and-13 before Wooldridge broke up the pass intended for Bryland Young.

Booneville had led 8-7 since a 1-yard touchdown run by Grant Rodatz and a two point conversion run by Caleb Draper with 1:29 left in the first half.

Dardanelle took a 7-0 lead on a 19-yard run by Dakota Rowland and point after kick by Marvin Hernandez.

Rowland ran for 61 yards. Rodatz led the Bearcats with 46 yards.
